The Story Behind “in Hawaii”

The Story Behind “in Hawaii”

People always ask the same thing first: why Hawaii? Toms Andre is made in the Mediterranean, sold in Cyprus, and you won’t find a flight to Honolulu anywhere on the site. So what’s the connection?

A feeling, not a place

For us, “Hawaii” isn’t a destination — it’s a feeling. Say the word out loud and your mind goes straight to sunshine, the ocean, palm trees and the easy roll of the surf. That’s the world we wanted our poncho to belong to: bright, warm, playful and just a little bit luxurious. “in Hawaii” is our shorthand for endless summer.

The name with a family at its heart

The name itself is personal. Toms Andre takes its inspiration from Thomas Andreadis, the founder’s father — a quiet reminder that behind the colour and the confidence, this is a brand built by people, for the summers worth dressing up for.

From towel to wardrobe

The idea was simple but stubborn: the humble beach towel could be so much more. Why settle for something flimsy when the moment deserves better? That question became a poncho-towel you actually want to wear — from your first dive to your sundowner at the beach bar.

That’s “in Hawaii.” Not a place you fly to — a way you feel when summer’s doing its thing. Read more about our story →
