A Toms Andre poncho is pure 100% cotton at 500 GSM — and that number matters more than you’d think.

What 500 GSM really means

GSM stands for grams per square metre: the density of the fabric. The higher the GSM, the thicker, plusher and more absorbent the cotton. We chose 500 GSM on purpose, because it’s the sweet spot for a poncho you actually wear: substantial and deeply absorbent, yet light enough to dry quickly and move with you all afternoon. A heavier bath-towel weight looks lovely folded on a shelf — but it’s too heavy to throw on and live in. Ours is built for the way you really spend a beach day.

The colours, the two-tone pairings and the relaxed, generous cut are all chosen by hand and by feel — guided by one simple test: does it make you feel great to wear it?

Care is the secret to longevity

Treat it kindly — a gentle machine wash at 30°C — and your poncho keeps its softness and colour season after season. Like anything good, it lasts longer when it’s looked after.
